M.e.m.e.n.t.o + 01-01 Juliet

This is the first page of the "Juliet" chapter. The first page of each chapter is intended to give an introductory character design as well as scene establishment (perhaps even time establishment). Each first page will follow the same format and the size of each character will give their relative proportions.

I decided to do this page in two pieces, one for the scene frames andone for the character, both are shown here. Also shown is the first intended character sketch, it was too small for the page. I want to show the full progress through which I go when developing a page.

I am pleased with Juliet's pose and costume, although I believe I will redo her face as it does not match the porcelain style established in the title page. She appears a bit tall here, but the second character is the only one taller than her, and he will be seated in his introductory page. Each frame shows a vignette of her morning routine (missing in the third panel is a partially made bed and end tables). Important storyline details will be included everywhere as the intent is for the world to contain such a continuity that many connections may be drawn simply by location.
